I appreciate that you can book an appointment for routine things pretty quickly and easily.

That being said my experience was a miss on a lot of fronts:

- multiple attempts to get blood samples
- once completed, my blood samples were mixed up with another patient
- rescheduled the appointment to draw blood again for the following week and the night before, the appointment was cancelled via SMS with no explanation
- the PA was friendly but a floating resource so unlikely that you’ll have some sort of relationship with a provider
- was told I should schedule a routine procedure but received no follow up for the referral
- received a report that a portion of my blood samples went to the lab but not sure if I can trust them now

I’m sure that some of these things were outliers but their systems and process seem a bit inadequate.

ZoomCare on Hawthorne was good for a couple years, then they moved and now it's totally different. Now they won't do the kind of appointments I needed periodically in person any longer, and out of alllllll their locations in Portland, I'm told I have to drive an hour outside of town for the same thing I walked for 5 minutes to do.

The headache of switching providers and being able to get an appointment for what I needed nearby was why I stuck around... but now it looks like the headache of leaving ZoomCare is worth it.

At least we can all count on private health care companies to make things inefficient, and we'll always know their profits trump our lives and sanity.

TL;DR -- they charged $300 for a basic exam which lasted 20min. Be sure to ask for a cost estimate as early as possible.

Had a bad cold, scheduled an appt bc they were in-network, traveled to the location only to park and discover that they canceled my appt 8 min before I arrived. Thanks for that.

Rescheduled, arrived, got a basic exam (checking blood oxygen, pulse, looked in my ears, nose, listened to my breathing, got advice). The doctor didn't think it was bad enough for me to get antibiotics, so I went home to ride it out. I was flabbergasted when I got the bill and discovered they charged $300, which came to $238 after an insurance discount. That's insane. Our healthcare system is such a joke, and organizations like this take full advantage of it. I'll be going elsewhere next time.

The people there are nice. But you can't actually call that location and apparently the company is in the midst of switching over software so I couldn't check who would be seeing me for my upcoming appointment. I was in the area and decided to stop by and ask. Well I waited around and left at 1:12pm after they failed to come back from lunch on time. Not cool.

Very friendly on the phone and in person. Tina the nurse was amazing, took her time and answered all my questions. It was a simple issue and sent my prescription to my pharmacy. Unfortunately my pharmacy was closed but Tina informed me they are a dispensary of my medication and I could get it for cost. Needing it I call the clinic to setup my medication and to cancel the pharmacy request. This is where my issues started. You can't call the any Zoomcare directly. You have to use their automated system. Which doesn't handle the issue that I have. So I spoke to records first, who confirmed it wasn't their department. Then I spoke to another person who was trying to get me the wrong department. Once I explained what I needed, she told me I will have to talk to several people to accomplish what I wanted. I asked why I can't just call the clinic and she said they are too busy to answer a phone. Everyone I talked to were very friendly and helpful. Zoomcare's system simply doesn't care about it's patients. You have to follow their red tape to get medication or talk to the front desk. It was never resolved. I was told to go back to the clinic and they can help if they are available, or make another appointment to talk with them. Nurse Tina was awseome, zoomcare is only about profits. I am unable to get my medications because they will not allow patients to speak on the phone with a clinic member. Worse place ever when in an emergency.

I have never had such difficulty with any doctors office ever. Apparently calling 5 times is not enough to get help with mental health prescriptions. No mentions the first three calls that I needed to schedule, in fact every time they told me it would be taken care of. Then was told I would receive a bridge prescription... never did. They preach that they support mental health and would never want someone to be off their meds but here we are two weeks later no medication and no help. Just received a voicemail telling me it's patient responsibility to schedule and refill prescription. I literally don't know what else I could do considering I've called 5 TIMES. Also I work in a doctors office and know that this is ridiculous.

TL;DR: Had an appointment at 3:15. Showed up at 3:20 and they refused to see me.

LONGER:
I'll make this quick. I take no pleasure in writing this for I've had good experiences with this location. Then there was yesterday. I had an ear infection last week. I went to this location, received antibiotics. This week my ear's still clogged so I made a last-minute appointment, making arrangements with my work to show up late so I can go to Zoomcare.

I took a $20 Lyft to get there. Lyft showed I was going to get there at 3:10, didn't get there till 3:20. The front attendant said we would need to reschedule but first she'd check with the doctor. Came back, yup, reschedule. I'm only 5 minutes late. Well, the attendant explained, the doctor's still SEEING HER 3 O'CLOCK APPOINTMENT. What? So it doesn't matter if I'm late then. Well, I guess she would cut that appointment off at 3:15 (whether it was warranted or not, I guess). I implored the front desk person, they tried again and came back to say no.

Thank God, I wasn't in pain or it wasn't something worse. 5 minutes is a ridiculous policy. All the doc had to do was look in my ear to make sure it wasn't something worse. I'm guessing the company puts them under pressure to turn and burn through appointments to max their profits, at the expense of actually providing health care.

I'm never using a Zoomcare again. I made a complaint to the company and suggested a generous 10 minute cut-off. I doubt anything will change. But if it happens to you then please make some noise about it. Five minutes is almost Orwellian.

Also, just want to say, despite her powerlessness to do anything, the front desk person was very polite and contrite and nice and it's not fair to her either.

Awful. Every appointment I schedule at this location, every single appointment gets cancelled. I've had appointments cancelled and rescheduled, only to have the rescheduled appointment once again rescheduled. I've had appointments canceled while I was driving to the office, and when I asked why, they said it was because they "anticipated i would be late". I just now had a virtual appointment cancelled three hours before my appointment. Do not attempt to see Margie here. She clearly does not care about helping anyone. You'll have better luck at any other location.
