What a gem!! Delicious mole ?. Thick tamales that don't skimp on the meat. Fresh, black refried beans. True Mexican salsa with smoky undertones. Dessert style platanos fritos ?. Park in the Wells Fargo garage for free and get over to this place!! If you miss Joey's, Rincón Poblano was always here!!!! We are definitely coming back.

If you’re looking for original Mexican tamales, this is the place.
We had a half of dozen of tamales, rajas con queso, salsa verde con pollo, salsa verde con cerdo, mole y chocolate. All of them so soft and great flavor, also we had a torta de milanesa, was so yummy!
The service is really good, our server was so friendly and helpful.
My little advice is gonna be about the flavor on the Agua de Jamaica, needed more Jamaica syrup on it.
Definitely we’ll come back ?

If you are an international/ college student, or just someone that loves homemade food this is the place. Their food had excellent seasoning, great options and their staff were so friendly. Definitely an authentic Mexican restaurant.

It was fine, nothing extraordinary. Their food wasn’t extremely authentic nor was it enough to be upscale Mexican food. This food is somewhere in between. We shared the 3 course meal and chose the tomato soup, chicken mole poblano entree with a pork tamale, and the pineapple tamale for dessert. The mole sauce was good, but the soup could have been more flavorful. Overall the best thing was the pineapple tamale as it wasn’t too sweet and all the flavors worked well together.

Everything felt like it needed a bit more flavor, and I would have appreciated it more if the tortilla chips were homemade as well as the tortillas, or if there was a little more flavor and power in the pork tamale soup, and mole sauce.

This is THE tamale spot. I have been eating them for years when the craving strikes (which is often) and I love them. While I haven't had a chance to dine-in and try other menu items, judging by the quality and flavor of the tamales alone, I can bet everything is great.

If you don't have time to eat inside, just get some tamales to-go like we do! Easy to reheat and always good.

I hate to give any place that’s trying, a one star review, but I just wouldn’t eat here again, and honestly wish I hadn’t eaten there tonight.

The chips and salsa was small for two people to share, plus the chips were tough! And, although they gave us more of the delicious salsa, they didn’t give us more chips.

More then this, we didn’t enjoy either entree we ordered. The chicken enchiladas were drowned in a strong, bitter sauce, and their was no cheese or anything with the chicken filling to make it not dry/ plain inside.

And my chile relleno was so unpleasant I had to stop trying to eat it because it was ruining my association with my favorite Mexican dish! The cheese inside, though a classic Mexican cheese, was not the melty cheese I expected like at other places (instead it stayed in one large lump). The roasted pepper and breading grossed me out flavor wise and the tomato sauce on top was not good on the chile relleno.

The queso tamale was good, we enjoyed the beans and rice overall, and the corn tortillas tasted fresh and were heated nicely. Also, the customer service was pretty good.

If you found this review helpful, please like it so Google and I know. Thanks!
