This evening my husband and I were doing some Christmas shopping. We found everything we needed and proceeded to checkout. We waited in line until we were directed to cashier 12. Once we approached the register we were greeted by an amazing lady Pam. We chatted about Christmas and what Santa was bringing us. Pam said she talked to Santa today and is praying for a full time job that she is hoping for. My husband and I had a great experience with her. I sure hope she is blessed with this job. This was a great experience tonight when all we went for was two Christmas gifts and left with much more.

I don’t know what is going on at Academy Sports. They used to have great service. But lately service quality seems to have gone down. Yesterday a bunch of were waiting in line with only 1 register open. Today I waited in line for 5 minutes at the front of the line before any help. Hopefully they will get better.

I've always had nothing but positive things to say about Academy. In fact, my last review 2 years ago was 5 stars. But here I am on a Saturday morning because my darling wife wanted to buy me some jeans and shirts, and I can't even try the clothes on because the fitting rooms are closed. That is the most absurd thing I've ever heard in my life!

We will never be back. You literally kick us out right at 11pm? We were heading out and management sent someone to "enforce us to leave"? OK we've been here plenty of times and have spent good money and this is how you treat loyal customers. The same employee told us he didn't care if we bought our merchandise.. how do you intend to stay in business if you do not make sales?

I have emailed corporate about this occurrence because there truly needs to be consequences against the manager and employee.

The service was so good in the past. What happened? I purchased a $700.00 piece of equipment and the team loaded a $99.00 piece of equipment. We were told to bring it back the next day and the issue would ne resolved. The next day, none of the staff could locate the equipment again. When they finally found the equipment, they had no one in the store certified to run a fork lift to get it down. We were told come back again, tomorrow. We should have checked the item prior to load, but we trusted the staff. Big mistake!! Oh, the Manager said, I'm sorry.
I guess that should fix everything. So why do I still feel cheated.

Stopped in today, 12/29/24 around 230 pm to exchange a pair of shoes for a different size. We first went in and found the new size and then went out to get the return from our vehicle. Wife worked her way through the line and ended up next in line for (Karen) at register 12. I approached register 12 from the entrance area with the exchange while my family approached from the other direction. Karen saw me and made eye contact while asking me if I needed help. I informed her that we wanted to exchange this pair of shoes with the ones my wife had as she was walking up. Karen was quick to point out the employee at the not so obvious return table that looked like a typical sign up for our bullshit table, without anything identifying it as a return table, while asking me if I started with the return table first. I told her that I didn't realize that this was a return table and asked her where the sign was, that I clearly didn't see. Karen was apparently fed up with people coming to her with returns when they had a return table. She did end up handling the return for my wife while making comments that I was such a rule follower or something like that.

Another person came up to her after us and said told the lady, right over there where is says Cashier on the sign, in a very condescending tone.

Karen needs to spend time stocking the shelves because she isn't cut out for customer service.

Driving to Scheels from now on.

The messiest academy i have ever been in. New clothes in piles llc over the store. Piled on tables and all over floor. Not very well kept. Store wasn't busy. So no excuse to be that messy.

I really enjoy visiting this location. The staff is so friendly and helpful as well as a very well organized and extremely clean shopping center. I'm so glad my daughter's were able to get their Stanley Cups as well!
